Our primary product is Cutting Calculator, a complex 1D Linear Optimisation program designed to quickly and easily calculate the most economical way to cut linear pieces from a given set of stock bars, thereby minimising waste, saving time, and most importantly cutting costs.

It is an essential piece of software for any company that regularly cuts lengths of a product from bar feed stock, be that steel, non ferrous metals, plastics, timber and many other forms.

In today’s green age, minimising waste and optimising the yield from our scarce recourses has become a priority for modern businesses and is a key component of the success of any company.

Metal Calculator Plus is designed as a quick reference tool for metal industry users that primarily allows the weights of a variety of metal shapes and section profiles to be calculated on the fly.

This allows users to do a variety of functions including accurately creating product codes, checking weights for lifting capacity, and ensuring vehicle loads are within allowed limits.

Calculating on the fly, Metal Calculator Plus allows details for non-standard sizes to be determined, which would not be found in a conventional look-up table.

It is also an essential guide to engineers who need guidance on the correct size of bar stock required to machine rectangles, hexagons, and a variety of other polygons.



Red Planet Software builds and customises every program specifically to our customers needs.
